Waiting Period and OTHER TESTING OPTIONS

For the folks who do not want to wait throughout the waiting period.....what are the other tests you can have done?  And where do you get these tests if you don't want to go to your own doctor?  Also, can't they just donate blood? (I know it is frowned upon just to get an HIV test).  Thank you.
