If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
Went for my test exactly after 6 weeks and 5 days of the encounter. It took only 15-20 minutes to get the result. The result is;
1.HIV- Antibodies (Elisa)- Negative.
2.HbsAg- Negative.
3.RPR- Non Reactive.
Doctor said I am ok for the time being but he added only after 90 DAYS TEST (3 MONTHS) IT CAN BE CONFIRMED WHETHER I AM ABSOLUTELY NEGATIVE or NOT. I am really confused of his opinion.
1. Whether any chance to change this result after 90 days??
2. Should I go for a 90 days test??
3. Whether the 15-20 minutes rapid (Elisa) test can be relied on?
4. Should I go for a confirmation test in other clinic?
5. Whether the test I have done is conclusive?
6. Whether this Elisa test is the same in all places in the world (i have done it in DUBAI(my residence))
Thank you very much for your replies.
Could you please tell me
1.what is a "Rapid Card Test"(In dubai private clinics only card test is available but they called it is ELISA).
2. Is card test is different from Elisa?
3. Is the card test can be relied on?
Thank You

A card test is a rapid hiv imunocromatographic lateral flow test, so is as good as any elisa for a negative result, you can relay on it. eventhought you didint needed.

Hi as every body told you were never at Risk. No Test Needed..... I did not listen to Teak and Lizzie and I end up in spending my money in testing a lot.....
Okay I am worried about your awareness of Dubai UAE rules.... I would say refrain from getting testing done in UAE..... You will be deported! even if you test +ve for Hep B and C.
Personally I would take Teak's and other member's adivse.....
Mean while if you can tell me which hospital you have tested... did they say they won't report to Health Ministry about result.
Thanks for your concern,
I have done my screening test at Cosmopolitan Medical centre at BurDubai. The Doctor is a nice man, he said if some thing happens wrong he would not report to the Health Ministry (as you said correctly if some thing went wrong i will be detained and will be deported within a couple of days).
Any some point of time we all do sins. Every day i am praying GOD for a relief from this situation.
I realised that It is not worth taking such a great risk in life for enjoyment which would not last for more than 3 minutes.
One more thing this forum really helps those who are in real trouble, may you all live long and God bless you.
It is very difficult for you to believe others assurance here initially. I faced the same, But you need to believe in these people's assurance as they know more about HIV.
Do not talk about sins.....
I would suggest remove your HIV concern and move on!
