in ARS and/or HIV are not painful to the touch? The tenderness and pain to the touch goes from my adams apple to my ear lobe on the right side of my neck only.
I only experience tenderness and pain when I touch my neck, and it is only on the right side. Pain when swollowing only lasted 3 hours on the first day.
I have read that HIV causes swollen lymph nodes and neck under the jaw:
1) Are they painful or tender to touch?
2) Can they be isolated to one side of the neck only?
3) Can I eliminate HIV as a possibility? I have never had unprotected sex, or used I/V drugs.
Thank you Teak. This all makes somplete sense, particularly because the HIV virus is generalised and so would cause lymph node swelling in the neck, armpits, groin etc. I know that 50-75% experience ARS, and not all. I remember reading that lymph nodes are not painful to the touch in ARS, but cannot remember where I read it, so thanks for confirming.
Hi Lizzie Lou. I have only recently started dating in my quest to find a new long term partner this year. It is going well, and I have had lots of dates. This day and age, things get physical after the first date with half of people. Being single, I also leave my lack of self esteem at the night club door and this has proven to be great for a healthy sex life. Now that
I have suddenly been exposed to multiple partners in such a short time, STD's and STI's just came to mind... albeit irrationally. I also read that condoms "greatly reduce" but do not eliminate the risk of HIV on the pack - latex condoms. Does this take into account the chance of tearing, breaking or improper use?
I guess I am just being extra careful... it is wonderful that women can be liberated like men and not face ridicule, but all this casual sex that i've recently been exposed to gets a previously monogomous guy thinking - my ex gf dumped me for another guy (hence the self esteem issues and the sex to probably compensate on the rebound).
Also, my psychologist friend said that sex is a "necessity" for a healthy mind.
