At first I believed I had mono. But now I dont have fatigue like everyone else gets and what medical websites about mono say will happen to you. I feel 100% better.
Symptoms can be very misleading, each and every single person here now who had a risk claimed that their symptoms were for real managed to get a negative.
Stress and anxiety can really cause superficial symptoms and the mind makes it more worse by magnifying it to the eyes.
If you ask me, I'd say calm down, relax, wait for your 6 week's test and then confirm it with a 12 week's negative meanwhile spend some time with your friends, do some thing that you like to do, go out for a movie etc.
I had a blood test that said I had antibodies to mono. I am concerned because you can have antibodies show up in a mono blood test for a long time after you were first infected. Who knows, maybe I had mono and didnt even know it when I was younger and I still show antibodies?
, fingering, drinking out of a shot glass shared by somebody else, thinking they got poked by a needle when they stuck their hand into a garbage. I had a real risk of unprotected sex 3-4 times by a man who took off the condom. I am really scared. My symptoms are real, I cant make a high fever happen. My throat was so sore my tonsil swelled so much I could barely drink fluids. I lost 10 lbs in a week. My lymph nodes were felt by a dr and she said they were swollen.
I just hope you are right that I am going to be ok. I feel like the world is against me right now and I am going to find out bad news when I get my next test.
can mono last for 2 or 2.5 months ??
intially only extreme fatigue then full white tongue then yellow patch and swollen nodes then white pus/thing in throat.
The fatigue from mono can last months, even up to a year in certain people, it all depends on how the person's immune system fights off the virus. My "mono" started 2 weeks after my last exposure and it started by fatigue so bad that I could barely drive my car. I went to the store and actually had to sit down on a bench for about 20 minutes before I could make it to the register. I lost all of my appetite and couldnt eat even a bite. I lost 10 lbs. My arm hairs and scalp became very tender to the touch and i knew I was getting sick. Then about 5 days later my left tonsil was sore and I looked in the mirror and there was a white pustule on it. That day I went and had a rapid test and it was negative (3 week mark). Later that day I went to my regular dr and had a strep test and it was negative and I asked her to check for mono, they drew my blood and called the next day to tell me I tested positive for mono antibodies. Each day my throat got progressively worse until a few days later I could not swallow and had to get pain meds called in so I coudl drink fluids. Then after exactly one week of sore throat pain it went away along with teh white stuff. Now I feel ok, sometimes I feel tired but it might be due to stress. I am wondering if it was really mono?
Yours seems to be mono only ......
I think mine is no close to mono.
white furry tongue for 2.5 months still has it......
weakness for 2.5 months
rash at 8 weeks(not mono??)
night sweats(6-7 days)
swollen nodes at week 7-8.(still has this)
OMG.............................
