Hi, 34 yo caucasian woman who has only ever had sex with women. I was tested by blood in 2010 and with an oraquik in 2013, both negative. In 2010 I was seeing a girl who ended up being an incredibly sketchy individual, which is what prompted me to get the blood test-however, I got the test about one month after being with her and I know that isnt' always accurate. We didn't share toys or engage in anything rough. I have no REAL reason to believe she could be infected, other than she was lying and sleeping with a man (or men?) as well.
By 2013, I had not been with anyone else (I know, long time) but had an oraquik test available to me, so I took it . Only one very faint line showed up (negative).
Since this test, I've been with two girls, however, I've only been on the receiving end of oral sex. The most recent girl is an emergency medicine doctor. I know her status is negative because she is tested regularly, as they are exposed to so much and she also gives blood regularly.
I have chronic vaginal yeast infections. I have had them since before I even had my first test. I also have LSIL HPV that has been lingering since 2009. My nails have changed a bit in recent years, in that theyre drier. I experienced a rash last year (this was a year after being with the girl whose status I do not know). I assumed it was from mangos, as I was picking tons of them every day and cutting them up without gloves. It spread all over my body. I was prescribed a cream and shortly after, the rash subsided. It did last about a month. It would clear up in one spot and then start in another. It is just now that I'm realizing the rash is one of the HIV symptoms. I clearly don't have a great immune system with the fact that I get these yeast infections so frequently (but as mentioned, I've had them since years before both negative tests) and being that the HPV has not cleared itself.
I'm wondering what, in your opinion, my risk might be. I could run to the store and grab another test, but I was just reading up and found that they have produced a number of false negatives, therefore I'd rather get a blood test. Until that's possible, I'm curious about your opinions.
As mentioned, I am a woman who has only ever slept with women, never shared toys.
Thank you for any input.
