What can my risk be?

So 2 weeks ago, I found out that my father is HIV+ and just a couple of days ago from that I used his razor because I was in a rush to shave my legs and happened to cut myself. I threw out the razor after my use, but I'm concerned.

Question: What is the likeness that I may be infected?

I know that the virus dies quickly in the environment but since it's a razor , I'm concerned.

Look elsewhere because you didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.

hello teak

you were the only person i could think of when this occurred,
I went in about 4 days ago to my doctor and found out that i have a few canker sores
I was joking with my doctor that i thought it was tonsils and he told me that tonsils are pretty easy to tell and that i can google it.

So i was googling tonsils just for the heck of it and happened to goggle canker sores as well. Turns out it is a symptom of HIV infection. Im sooooooooo extremely worried. and im so scared to go tested for HIV.

I did get tested for HIV two days after the said razor incident which came back negative, but as you said 3 weeks or so. It has now been a month and a week since the incident.

so what u mean is that if my situation had a risk to it, then I should have gone in at 3 months?

hmmmm this may sound weird but should i get tested again, but it's only been 3 weeks since the said situation (which apparently has no risk as Vance2335 said)......

Antibodies for some can be detected as early as two weeks for some it may take 3 months. To obtain a conclusive negative result you would have to test out to 3 month if you had had a risk.

oh wow really?!?!

that makes me feel so much better! I did have a HIV test done as soon as we got the news, which came back negative, but in trying to inform myself on HIV i read that u have to wait around 3 months before developing antibodies that can be detected, which made me rethink the test results after this incident. Thanks so much!
