What is my risk of possible HIV infection?

I am a gay male, so obviously HIV is a reality that our community must be aware of. Recently, I had sex with someone that I have been talking to for a while. I always ask people about their status, and he claims to be HIV neg. I know that I should believe him, but always have a bit of paranoia, especially since having learned that he has sex with a lot of guys.
So basically, I had protected sex with him. Whenever I have sex, the condom always is a maybe half an inch up from the base of the penis. I feel like this may sometimes enter the person's body I am having sex with, but it may just look like that.
But, I had recently shaved so there was a razor bump in that exposed area. And, I also get these pimple like marks on my scrotum. Is is possible that, and I know I should believe him, but IF he was HIV positive that I may have become infected through a pimple, razor bump or ingrown hair (what ever it was).
I know I am being paranoid, but wanted to ask

You had protected sex with someone who says they are HIV negative, and studies show that most people tell the truth when asked about their HIV status.

Don't worry about the shaving nicks and bumps we all get from time to time. A general rule with cuts is that if the skin is strong enough to keep your blood in, then it's strong enough to keep the HIV out. In other words, if you weren't actively bleeding at the time, I wouldn't be concerned.

Also, as others have explained, the tip of the penis part that needs to be covered.

I would not be worried if i were you, but if you remain concerned have a combo test at 4 weeks. also, you may want to look into PrEP for the future, a preventative pill that adds additional safety.

Thanks so much for your response. It is a relief that I don't need to be concerned.

Only sex risk for you is unprotected anal , and the condom only has to cover the head of penis. Don't use lambskin though, and don't wonder if a pimple, or a rash or a cut makes any difference..

thanks for your response, I am trying not to worry. I'm not questioning your answer, but since a pimple, rash or ingrown hair can be open, and there are "fluids" why is it that there isn't a risk with these?
I'm finished but you can search other threads since it gets asked several times a day.
