What kind of risk am I potentially exposing myself to

I'm a 23 year old male who's recently decided to visit a brothel.  Now, I've never had sexual intercourse before and so naturally, I'm somewhat concerned about the possibility of contracting an STD.  Just how effective are condoms as a means of preventing H.I.V transmission? The brothel in question is required to have its resident sex workers undergo a regular health inspection every two weeks. Also, does the fact that I'm uncircumcised significantly increase the risk of contracting a H.I.V infection? Thanks for taking the time to read this. I just want to be sure that my first time with a woman won't result in ugly consequences.

As long as the condom did not break (and you know when it breaks) you had no risk.

Vance's advice is sound, as concerns HIV and several other STD's. Bear in mind, however, that even with condoms, there always exists the possibility that may be exposing yourself to STD's that transmit via skin-to-skin contact.
