When do people test positive?!

When will the average person test positive? I have read numerous times that most ppl will have detectable antibodies at 2weeks. If that's true why must one test out to 3months? If 2weeks is average time to test positive then shouldn't test at 6weeks and definitely 8weeks be considered conclusive?

Hi britt_brat87,

Truth is, the human body is not like an alarm clock. It doesn't have an exact day or time for things to happen.

Whether 3 months equals 84 days or 90 days is just a matter of semantics. What you need to know is that any test after 12 weeks (84 days) is a conclusive test.

May God bless

Does it have to be exactly 3months meaning 90 days...or it can be like btwn 80-90 days. Ones status wouldn't change within a 10 day time frame.

6-8 weeks is the great indication of your status ( during this time Majority people develop detectable HIV antibodies where your immune system produce antibodies for the antibody test to detect ). Then follow-up at 12 weeks for conclusive result.

The AVERAGE period of time that an infected person will show positive on the test is 25 days. This is an average, so not all people will test positive by this point in time simply because People has different immune responses with the virus. Only beyond the window period results will give you the conclusive answer.
