Which is more reliable. A negative PCR test in the window period or a negative antibody test after the window period?

Which one is more reliable Teak? Surely a PCR detects the virus where as an antibody detects response ? Why is an antibody considered conclusive?

The antibody test at 3 months post exposure.

A p24combo is excellent at 4 weeks,followed up by an antibody test at 3 Months.The HIV RNA by PCR is good for early detection but is not a stand alone test.

What is the science behind that? I thought looking for something directly would be easier than looking for a reaction to something? Thanks for the response.
