White tongue--please respond

So after my last post I started to calm down a bit, until this morning when I looked at my tongue in the mirror and noticed that it had a white appearance to it, especially near the back of the tongue..and whiteness goes sort of all over with red/pink patches.  I don't know if this is how my tongue normally looks or not, but I remember reading somewhere on these forums about white tongue being a symptom of something.

Please respond, I am FREAKING out.

It would be called Thrush and it shows up in later stages of HIV

I bet if you brush your teeth and tongue it will disappear. My dad is a dentist and white stuff on your tongue is plaque. Some people get it with colds also.

thank you.  so it couldn't be a symptom of HIV at all if my possible encounter was approx 1 week ago?  If that's so, that puts my mind to ease
