) tests, short of the reccommended 6 months and the result was also negative. But before those two tests, I was already taking allergy shots 2X a week that started September of 2010, two months before the encounter. Did my allergy shots affected my HIV
test results? Is the negative conclusive inspite of the allergy shots I'm taking? Do I need to test again cause I'm planning to have another one (12 mos after axposure). Please advise since I don't what to do. Thanks for you help in advance.
No, your allergy shots would not effect your test results and 6 months is not recommended, 3 months is sufficient.Your negative and don,t require anymore testing.
test is excellent and it is considered to be final and conclusive. All tests for antibodies are 100% reliable after 3 months. 6 months are required only for persons whose immune system become weakened for example due to chemotherapy, etc. Therefore you do not have HIV. Try to move on.
Cheers
Thanks for the quick reply. It's very comforting to know that I don't have to do another test. It's one mistake that will never happen again. Now I can move on. Also for other people with the same issue, I found Dr' Frascino's reply for an added refererence:

I have tested negative using the home access system three months and again six months from date of exposure. I am being given allergy shots onces a week. Does allergy shots affect the Home Access results?
Response from Dr. Frascino
Hello,
Nope. Allergy shots do not affect the results of any HIV tests! WOO-HOO on your negative tests!
