I was using the ATM machine and this guy was unusually long and when i used the ATM machine afterwards i got pricked but there was no blood though. Was there a needle underneath it waiting for me to press it.

I went to the A&E doctor and they said i was fine but im not buying it.

My friend also told me that there are hiv people using syringes in atm machines and phone booths to contaminate people.

Do i have it?

Hi, I read it. Not a concern for HIV as you used condoms for penetrative sex.

No problem. There is a difference between a needle and hypodermic needle. A simple needle isnt hollow and doesnt have a gateway to pass liquid (something used for stiching clothes) so in this case it wont hold any blood. The surgical/hypodermic needles are the ones used in syringe or the ones exclusively used by the drug users where in exchange of syringe happens immidiately in seconds. Eg one person injected drugs into his arm and immidiately his friend used the same to plug in drugs in his arm (considering the first user is hiv pos) in this case its a risk. Where are if the same needle used by the hiv positive person lies for one month and later pricks someone, obviously its no risk and the virus is alive in blood once outside its host under clinical conditions. I hope this solves your query. It always depends on the risk activities. There are so many normal accidental pricks happening, I just happened to be pricked a year back by a safety pin at  my neighbours home, doesnt mean I should panic and rush to a clinic for test :). Tc and god bless.

Hi,

No. Definitely not. HIV is a very fragile virus which becomes inactive once exposed to external environment.
