I'm in menstrual period these days. This morning I asked my roommate to pass me the sanitary napkin and I used the sanitary napkin. However, my roommate's finger
positive, will I be infected through this way if her blood fell on the sanitary napkin? As now I'm in menstrual period, so I guess it's blood to blood exposure?
Thank you Joggen. I found there's also anther information in this forum that is "HIV QUICKLY becomes inactive when it is outside of its host ". I'm not sure how quickly it is,but per your information, the virus is not inactive immediately out of the body right? Which information is correct? Thanks!
You're reading something into my statement that isn't there- the two statements are completely identical in meaning. Just forget about this non-incident and move on with your life.
Thank you Joggen! Due to I used the sanitary napkin right after my roommate passed to me, so the time is very very short. Thus, if the HIV virus QUICKLY becomes inactive when it is outside of its host,I'm still worried...
It doesn't matter how quickly it is because nobody has ever been infected that way in the 30 years of the HIV epidemic and you aren't going to be the first. There are no recorded cases of HIV transmission between household members that did not involve unprotected penetrative sexual intercourse or sharing IV drug works- those are the only ways that you can catch it. It is not spread from sharing razors, towels, tampons, or any other personal items.
