Window Period Auto-immune disorder

I had unprotected anal intercourse with a women of unknown status (feb 2)

I tested for HIV at  5 months on July 2nd

The test results are non reactive. My doctor said that I have high protien level of 8.3 and I have also have an auto-immune disorder, he advised me to re-test at 9 months in additional 4 months to make it conclusive. It is possible because I have a weaker immune system and a high protien level that my body has not developed anti-bodies yet?
because the test doesnt look for HIV itself it only looks for the anti-bodies. My doctor refused to order me a proviral DNA and Nuclic Acid Viral Load tests.

A test taken at 5 months is reliable.  Graves disease will not affect HIV tests.  Your doc is being way more careful than necessary.
