Window period lasting even 5 years?

Window period lasting even 5 years?

Exactly 91 days after a (practically safe) encounter, I took a Unigold rapid test and it was negative. I was told this is completely conclusive, but yesterday I went to the doctor (for unrelated reasons) and asked her about HIV testing. She told me 3 months were not conclusive, that HIV can be detectable 5 years after the exposition in some people.

Is this somehow true? Assuming my risk wasn't low, assuming it was unprotected sex - would a Unigold rapid test be conclusive at 91 days? Why did my doctor say some people last 5 years, is that somehow true?

Thanks in advance... this is the last question I'm posting here.

Totally Untrue. The AVERAGE period of time that an infected person will show positive on the test is 25 days. This is an average, so not all people will test positive by this point in time simply because People have different immune responses with the virus. Only beyond the window period results will give you the conclusive answer

6-8 weeks is the great indication of your status ( during this time Majority people develop detectable HIV antibodies where your immune system produce antibodies for the antibody test to detect ). Then follow-up at 12 weeks for conclusive result.
