Worried Risk - Testing

Worried Risk - Testing

Dear Doctor,

I had a possible risk of exposure in Sydney, Australia. I went to an Asian Massage Parlour, I ended up have breif unprotected vaginal sex with this Taiwanese girl and I ejaculated in her. I have since contacted the establishment and they have advised that the girls get chjecked for all STD's every two weeks by law.

I had a HIV CMIA 4 ab/ag test at 4 weeks and 6 weeks, both came back negative, not did other STD,s such as gonnereah, Chylimidia, Syphills. I have since developed a wart on my penis and I am currently taking cream to correct this. The GP told me that I would need to get tested at 12 weeks to be certain. It has now been 9 weeks.

I am a married man, and I totally regret what I did. My questions are, can I assume that the 6 week test is conclusive? Can I have sex with my wife and move on with my life, or should I still be concerned and get retested at 12 weeks? also being that I have a wart on my penis, does this increase my chances of contracting HIV?

Thank you for your assistance.

Nothing you have described suggests that you have HIV.  The risk of getting HIV after a single unprotected exposure in less than 1 in 1000.  Receipt of oral sex has virtuallyy  no risk.  Since then you have had a negative HIV test at a time (six weeks) when it would have detected 95% of HIV infections.  I would not get another HIV test.

The presence of a genital wart is un-related to HIV risk.

With respect to sex with your wife, you should know that you could potentially give the infection to her although treatment probably reduces that likelyhood.
ope this is helpful.

Dude, what were you thinking? NEVER have sex without a condom. You should have it tattooed on your penis. Having said that, you don't have HIV since you were negative at 4 and 6 weeks. Although it sounds like you may have caught something else, if you didn't have it already. Be sure to also get tested for syphillis (syphilis) at 6 weeks+. Also get tested for Herpes 1 and 2 but you have to wait for it, I think three to six months before you can be tested for it.

If you have Herpes or other STDs your chances of getting the HIV do go up a bit. The doctor will tell you more about it. You can relax about the HIV but you probably shouldn't have sex with you wife, even protected sex, until you hear from the forum doctor. Good luck.

Dear Doctor,

Please help me, I am freaking out and very upset.

I had a further HIV test at 9 weeks and it cam back negative. This is now my 11th week post exposure.

During this week, I developed a cold sore on my nose which I would of thought it would be due to sunburn as I have had this before, however I have experiencing discomfort on the RH side of my neck under my Jaw. I managed to locate a lump.

I went to have an ultrasound of this area and here are the results - Several slightly enlarged lymph nodes up to just 2cm in diameter in the region of the right submandibular gland. They show increased blood flowand the appeareance are those of reactive lymphadenopathy in this area. Right now I am so upset as I have read that this is a symptom of HIV. What are your thoughts??? Should I take the 13 week test still??? Please Help me.

Kind regards
