1/2 is used. the consellor told me that i am negative, but while he was talking to me i noticed that in the patient box, there was 2 pink stripes in it, as it was my first time testing i didnt question the consellor about it. so after that, i went back to the doctor's forum here and saw the link to the abbott determine test strip's package insert pdf, to my knowledge, there is only supposed to be 1 line in that box for a positive result. i was very confused and so i went back for another test after a few days, which is negative, and i did not see any line in the test box at all.
so my worry is, what was that during my first test? was my eyes playing tricks on me?
and i would like to confirm, that if i was positive, the 2nd test would have shown it
For a positive result there would be 2 lines present, the C and the T. How do you even know that was your test? If your doctor told you that you were negative then you are negative. He/She is not going to lie about your results.
hey teak, there was 1 line in the control box, and 2 really faint stripes next to each other in the T box, that was my test because they paste the identification numbers to the test stripe and i was asked to double check it with my receipt (annonymous testing). i know they should be experienced in handling test results but i just cant figure out why i saw those 2 lines inside the T box. initially i thought it was some sort of pre-printed pink lines beside the antigen bar so that even if there is a faint line the reader would be able to notice it by the contrast it produces , thats why i went back for another test to double check, but there wasnt any 2 bars in the T box during my second test. well, if i am positive the 2nd test would have picked it up right?
ok...but first off, you had what? what?? PROTECTED SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!! protected means guarded against...and in your case, you were guarded against hiv. there is no need for further test. put this behind you and move on with your life.
