Worried

Dear Doctors

Last night I was in a strip club in London England and I sucked a Brazilian female strippers nipples. I don't think any fluid came out of her nipples but it was hard to tell.

Do you think I should be tested for HIV (or anything else) / get PEP due to the above?

Many thanks

Welcome to the Forum.  The exposure you describe was absolutely no risk for HIV.  To start with, the chance that the stripper you were in contact with had HIV is low.  most strippers, and commercial sex workers do not.

Second, HIV is transmitted in adults only by penetrative genital or ano-genital sex and injection of infected materials deep into tissue.  It is not transmitted by kissing, sucking, or taking body fluids into your mouth, even if the fluids are swallowed and even if there are sores in your mouth.  As an example, let me point out that there are never been a case in which HIV has been proven to be transmitted to another person through oral sex - not ever.  Your exposure was certainly less risky than this and thus, no risk.

You do not even need testing for HIV or for other STDs related to the exposure you describe and you certainly do not need PEP.  There is no reason for concern.  EWH
