Worried

Hi,

I was stupid and had unprotected sex with a man.

I have been planning to get tested and am waiting until its time.

Its only been about 20 days.  My concern is of course symptoms.  I have had a terrible cough and some sinusitis, I understand from this forum that neither of those two things are an ARS symptom and that ARS does not cause congestion.

The one symtom that is concerning me is a small areas between my chest and my tummy where I have about 10 flat red lesions.  They started out as little red dots but have for bigger they are now about 1-2mm in size.  Liek I said there is only 10 and I will admit to trying to put cream etc... on them.  They feel a little bit sore when I scratch them very lightly but they do not itch.

The other thing and I do not know i this is relevant at all but when I stretch that area of skin they all but disappear would this happen with the ARS rash?

Syptoms or lack of will never tell you anything about your status. HIV has no specific symptoms. You can obtain your conclusive negative test 3 months post exposure.

Like I said,a rash isn't going to tell you anything about your status only an HIV test is.

Fevers are most common and the rash doesn't itch but at the end of the day it's only a test result that means anything really.

So ARS always comes with a high fever?

Also I am sure I read somewhere that the ars rash is painess is this correct? my rash is slightly sore to the touch but not painful. Is the ARS rash senstive to the touch?

Don't concern yourself to much with symptoms unless they are very high fevers--take a DUO test at 4 weeks and then follow up with an antibody test at 3 months.
