after fever persistent sore throat, fatigue, diarrhea, spoungy nose : is it HIV???

Pls forgive me for poor english.

At the begining, let me make it very clear dat i m 26, male, and till now i m not involved in any kind of sexual act not even kissing. But i m scared of accidental HIV infection as i keep travlling in various parts of the country meet lots of people and always eat outside (exposed food).

Exacltly 29 days before i had following flu like symptoms.

(1) Fever between 99-100 (it never crossed 100 mark)
(2) Runny nose/cold
(3) Fatigue/weakness
(4) Breathing problem
(5) Very sore/painfull throat
(6) Severe headache
(7) Night chills & sweating.

Fever, cold, night chills/sweating got automatically cured within 9-10 (too long????)  days without any medical treatment.

But since the begining, (its 29th day), i still have following persistent symptoms

(1) very sore throat/throat congestion,
(2) fatigue,
(3) spoungy nose,
(4) mild diarrhea,
(5) neck/back pain,
(6) pricking/itching skin
(7) and very occasional red bump on skin

I went to ENT specialist n within 05-10 minutes he told me dat it might be some Upper respiratory infection and prescribed some antibiotics (azithromycin) due to which my diarrhea got worst.  So next time he prescribed some sodium & pottasium tablets.  But due to diarrhea it dosent seem working so in next visit ENT specialist prescribed some digestive syrup and pro biotic capsuls, bcoz of which my diarrhea is in control but i got very itchy skin.  And when ever i do some hard physical activity there forms a congestion in my throat and right side of my chest start paining with heavy breathing.

So i m scared to death,  on some health related website i read that above are the symtoms (symptoms) of primary HIV infection.

So, please plaesssse, pleasssssssse guide me about this, from one month i m under tremendious pressure n i dont have courage to go 4 hiv test.

Hi abhi,
Read carfuuly the comment.

1. HIV can only trasmit through sexual contact , blood transfuion , using previously used needles.

2. It can't trasmit through causal contacts that you discribe.It wont also not trasmit through food.

If it trasmit that way like contacts, (from your name i think you are from India)
they will be very different. Let us take an example city say hydrabad where more than 1 in 100 have hiv. If one walks through that city he will contact atleast say 10 hiv + in say 1 hour. Then whole population will become hiv + with in year or less !. it is not.

3.Whatever syptoms (symptoms) you say i wont think about HIV, Why you dont have it.
So get treated for that


4. About testing i dont see any reason to test. But it will not be bad idea to get tested to calm your mind.

You fear to test no man no because the result will be negative sure.

5. Do you want me to guide you to testing center please say your city i will try to do that ( Remmeber testing is not needed for medical reason)

Dear Abhi,

HIV is most commmonly transmitted through sexual intercourse, sharing needles for IV drug use and by accidental injury from contaminated needles (in case of a health center environment). What you have is a pain cold (not even flu) and all the symptoms you describe are the most common ones during a cold attack. Its got nothing to do with HIV.
Unfortunately I had all those symptoms recently but I cannot brush them aside because I had a high risk exposure (Unprotected vaginal sex with an escort). So, for someone like me, it is a cause for concern but you have never even had sex so, go and have fun and remember to ALWAYS use condoms when having sex.

There is no point in hiding anything frm u people.

As far as test is concern, i will definately go 4 it, just looking for good day ("Mahurat"), as this tension made me very superstisious.

Bhai maine bhi Indian hi hoon i know its to be very dare to go for test but ...no other coice aur aaesii koi baat nahin tere saath u need not to be tested,,y r u afraid if u didn"t do something wrong then u can:t get that man no way.....or u r hiding something lol..Don"t mind.
go and get tested u know no one can here relaxe u if u don"t wanna to be somewhere only negative report in your hand can gave u relaxation goooooooooooooooo have a lil courage get tested man and when u get negative report {which is sure} u can fly and u r symptoms and whatever u thought about that will be vanished in seconds...

Hey people thank you very much for your guidance.

But wat is bothering me is dat i m young and any viral infection should not continue for more than 8-10 days. And in my case its almost a month

Second thing is, two years ago i got one govt. job for which i had to submit medical fitness certificate of civil surgeon.  So i went to one civil hospital of gujarat (where i got posted) for dat certificate.

But i m doubtful about the syrenge and needle used by nurse of dat civil hospital..  What i remember is dat, i was standing in a que and when my turn came to give the blood sample for hemoglobin check, dat nurse picked up one syrenge n needle lying of her table and wiped the needle with some cotton lump and took my blood sample.  That is 2 years before.

After dat i was healthy enough except few seasonal ailments like cold, cough n temperature which got cured in 3-4 days without any medical treatments.

But when last month i got flu like symptoms and i didnt go to hospital, so i m not sure wheter that was flu or somthing else.

So i m in tremendious pressure, i belong typical indian middle class family n u fellow indian cud understand what my situation is.

I am not able to gather the courage to go for test.

And this anxity n worry is ruining my life.

I still wonder why i have sore throat n breathing problem on 29th day.

here i m arrenging my symtoms (symptoms) step by step.

Day 1 :
All of sudden, while watching TV, i felt stuffy/itchy nose and by natural instinct i came to know dat i gona have common cold in comming days.

Day 2:
Runny nose, headache & mild temperature

Day 3:
Runny/stuffed nose, more headache, temp (99-100),

Day 4:
Runny/stuffed nose, severe head ache, temp (99-100), sweating & chills, dry coughing, Very sore throat, breathing problem

Day 5:
Peak of all the symptoms Very bad severe headache, Blocked nose, temp (99-100), sweating and chills, dry coughing, very sore throat, breathing problem

Day 6:
Stuffed nose, severe headache, sweating & chills (decreased), temp (99-100), dry coughing, very sore throat, heavy breathing

Day 7:
I felt good as there was no temp.(normal), no headache but still had stuffed nose, sore throat, dry coughing and i started felling fatigue along with breathing problem

Day 8:
Temperature returned (99-100), stuffed nose, dry coughing, fatigue, headache, sore throat, but no sweathing and chills

Day 9:
still mild temperature, stuffed nose, dry coughing, fatigue no headache, sore throat

Day 10:
It looked like i got well, b coz since then i dont have temperature, headache, sweating & chills.

Day 11, 12, 13, 14
Persistent sore throat, fatigue, dry cough & somtimes heavy breathing

Day 15 & 16:
Sore throat, started having little loose stool, fatigue, when i weighed myself found dat i lost about 4 kgs in 15 days

Day 17:
cosulted ENT specialist, he said upper respiratory infection, prescribed antibiotics (azithromycin)

Day 18:
Started to have diarrhea (very loose stool 6 to 7 times a day), extrim fatigue, very sore throat.

Day 19,20 & 21:
continous diarrhea, neck/back pains, small itching bump on back side of head, severe fatigue & sore throat and return on spoungy nose

Day 22:
Consulted ENT again he stopped antibiotics and prescribed some pottasium/sodium tablets, diarrhea, neck/back pain, severe fatigue & sore throat, spoungy nose.

Day 23:
Had very itching & pricking red bump on stomach, continous diarrhea, fatigue, sore throat & spoungy nose.

Day 24,25,26
REd bump still there but reduced in size day by day no more bumps anywhere, continous diarrhea, sore throat decreased fatigue and neck/back pains but constant sore throat and chest pain along with heavy breathing while doing any physical activity like long distance walking or pulling weights.

Day 27
Consulted ENT again & he prescribed tablets for diarrhea & spoungy nose

Day 27,28,29,30
diarrhea in controll (due to tablets), some times i saw enlarged lymph node on back side of palm and leg with little pains, constant sore throat, no more red bumps but itchy skin, persistent fatigue

I've had nosil discharge for over 3 month, headaches for over 4 weeks, diarrhea for over 3 months.  Till this day, I still have nosil discharge.

A month earlier, it started with severe headache, then over a span of a week, I have fever over 100 ( 100.5-100.7), cough, sore throat, chest discomfort chills, and lympnodes on the right side of my face, before the ear and after my left eye on top of nosil discharge, heachache and diarrhea.

It has been over 3 month now, but I still have nosil discharge and heachaces, but the headaches had subsided.  I've never been so sick in my life.

There are cases where people have no hiv risks are mysteriously infected for no reason.  They have no idea how they got infected.  

I did research and there are 6 stds that you can get through touching and consuming contaminated food: trichomonas, hapatitis a, b, c; molluscum, pubic lice, and scrabies.

I don't know if people can actually put the hiv virus in drinks and food to infect you purposely, but that has always been a concern of mine.

A few years ago, I had an incident where someone on a crowded subway stuck me with a needle; I was so concerned that it was infected with some deadly desease, so I wented test for all stds, because I felt sick after the needle stick and then my mouth had a whole bunch of bubbles and till this day I still have them.  I've been to serveral clinics and they have no clue as to what it is.  Till this day I still have the bubles in my mouth.

I had the same symptoms as you.  There are a few possibilies of why I'm this sick, but the bottom line is that I need to get test again later in a few months as well.  

Recenly, I also noticed three pimples in my armpit.  I find that odd.  I've never had pimples in my armpit.

I really have never been this sick before.  Hopefully it's just the flu not anything deadly.

I had a unprotected 3 1/2 weeks ago with the women from the night club 8 days later I had felt something in middle in my thoat I dont know if is swellow nodes but it go away also my felt something pounding my head for one day than go away. I went to Health care 2 days later to get test the result were negative than two days later I develop a headache that last about a week and sore thoat two days later which last five days I went to a doctor again at another locations health care department thant same weeks the doctor told me my result will be avaible in mouth unless they call me if I infection but I am about to go to the hos this week to get a x-ray check and test for hiv std because I current feel someing throught my chest, weist, foreare  and my feet, like it hot I hope in the goce of god it not a desease Please tell what might infect my body, and my health
