Be smart and stay protected if you choose to have sex with your girlfriend until you reach a sufficient testing point and obtain a negative result.  My recommendation is to test a 6 weeks (very reliable) and then at 3 months which will be conlcusive. It was risky behavior, so be careful in the future.
