I know I've been advised to stop posting but I'm kind of freaking out today...
I used merthiolat (an antiseptic with a little spoon inside the bottle to put on wounds) on an inflamed wound and I wonder if there was blood from a previous use on the spoon, if it could be infective.
I read that some bacteria can survive on the spoon inside the bottle of the antiseptic and I wonder if the virus can, too. No one used the antiseptic immediately before me. Sorry to bother, I know I have issues, but I'm very concerned about that and wish I could put my mind at rest.
hiv can't. its an extremely fragile virus. it can't survive outside the body. i don't know of any bacteria that survive in a bottle of antiseptic. maybe a spore former such as bacillus or clostridum. hiv doesn't form spores. this is very true and very accurate.
