teak is an expert. you need to understand how hiv works and then you would realize that 3 months IS conclusive. hiv attacks the body's defenses. the body in turn makes antibodies in response to the virus as it does for every bacteria and virus. hiv testing is based on the presence of antibodies. by the time 3 months rolls around antibodies have been made and can be detected through the test.
I don't know why the conversation has ended but it is your choosing to do so, I don't know what else to do at this point because I am no steps closer to receiving information directly linked to evidence other than opinions , not to say that your opinions arnt appreciate but it is even less lackluster without proper information to support such claims. As I said beforehand my readings on Dr. Bob is at least weighing on the matter due to actually being a hiv specialist Updated or not. thanks for your opinion ; ]
Were done with this conversation. Until the guidelines are changed by the manufactures of the tests and the FDA. Those guidelines will be used on this forum as we use them on AidsMeds.
I can respect that, I happen to enJoy his humor on difficult subjects to ease the tension.
PEP aside, what can you say about the 3 month rule that may not be known to give substance to the notion of 3 months being 100 % other than the cdc becauses those at cdc will say 3% after three months. Do you happen to be a CAN or some form of medical provider that has available info I or others do not, I know the internet can be good or bad with info but my searches online have been fruitless and has grown tiresome exhausting my reasource
ying to nail this down for good. If you happen to know more than I please share cause you seem to be well versEd on this particular subject.
Thanks, jay
Well he's wrong. It's 3 months after the last dose. I don't have anything against the man but he should up date his knowledge instead of giving out dated information.
See the 3 month after last dose of PEP and dr. bob had said 6 months. . If you don't mind me asking what length of knowledge do you have on this subject to stand so convinced that it won't take longer than the reccomonded 3 months for unknown rsons? Also what do you have against Dr. Bob, he seems like he knows what he is talking about.
Thanks for sharing
I don't care what Dr. Bob has said. The guidelines set by the manufacture and the FDA sets the guidelines at 3 months post exposure for a person that has had a real risk of contracting HIV. PEP guidelines are 3 months after the last dose of medication to obtain a conclusive test result.
I still don't understand, many still suggest different reasons with different testing times, from what I have seen they range any where from 6 to 12/13 to 6 months! That's not even throwing into account of PEP or other various reasons. Anyone can sit there and say 3 months with no backing, at least the hiv specialists like Dr. HHH or Dr. Bob have credentials to back there testimony but they both differ much like you differ now, you see the problem? Don't take this as arguing but trying to get to the bottom of this as I am more confused than ever. Thanks for your comments Teak.
3 months is conclusive and it is very rare for anyone to need to test longer than 3 months those that may need to, know.
