blotchiness in palms

blotchiness in palms

Hi,

I had what I am learning to be a very low risk exposure almost 4 weeks ago after a few drinks (worst mistake I could have made).  However, I have a substantial amount of anxiety about the situation.  I should preface the symptoms by saying that I had a bad sore throat before the exposure for 2 weeks so I was already a little sick with no real explanation.  Anyway, shortly after the exposure I had flu-like symptoms within 2 days or so.  I fealt feverish and achy with fatigue.  I know that HIV ars does not start that early in most cases so I wasn't very worried about it at that point.  On week 2, I noticed a fungal infection on my foot.  I was out of town and reusing socks so this wasn't a large concern alone.  Then I noticed a white tongue which does not have the signs of thrush, not painful or patches.  These are still there.  The same week, though, within days I noticed blotchiness in palms of my hands.  This has persisted for a week and a half.  When this happened I became concerned about the possibility of HIV.  I can't remember what I read early on but I remember thinking that this was symptom.  Now I can't seem to find much about it but I have heard a few people talk about it as a symptom.  The blotches are under the skin, sometimes more prevalent and visable than others.  They seem to fade a small amount when arms are elevated.  Lately there has been very minimal peeling although the hands do not feel dry.  Most of the time, it looks like a red or pink and white patten of botchiness in the hands.  I also have been achy lately with swollen lymph nodes in neck and groin but no fever.  If anything at all it is low.  Does anyone know about this symptom?  How does it present itself?  I am very concerned and mostly because of this symptom.  My other ones can be explained but this one is not easy to relate.  Thanks.

What was your risk? We can't advise you if you don't tell us.

I had a drunken sexual encounter with a sex worker in the infamous Red Light District of Amsterdam.  Stupid.  The reason I phrase it like that is that there was actually no real penetration.  The oral sex (20-30 seconds) may or may not have been protected (I'm pretty sure it was but I have been second guessing my recollection).  The next part I remember.  At this point I know I had the condom (she put it on) and she put lube on the condom.  We then tried to have sex but I could not get an erection.  I may had pressed against her genitals in an effort to get it in but there could not have been entry.  After this I attempted to masturbate myself to no avail and the encounter was over.

The early symptoms that I had concerned me because I thought I had contracted herpes.  I had tingling in my penis and the flu-like symptoms 2 days after.  I never got lesions but I did get redness at the tip and head of my penis which had a couple bumps (hardly noticable).  This has stayed the same.  I will get tested for herpes.

However, since I may have contracted herpes from her, does it make it more likely that I would have contracted hiv even though I was protected and didn't penetrate.  The most concerning symptom is still the blotchy palms to go along with aches, slight fatigue, and some mild skin irriations (nothing too noticable).
