RNA Viral Load Test at 12 weeks past exposure. PCR test at 10 weeks. Antibody at 4 6 and 10 weeks. All negative. Is it possible its a different kind of HIV other than what I am being tested for? Also wandering if I was co- infected with another disease such as Hep would that make it take longer to test positive. So much conflicting info on the net. You guys seem to know the most. Would if the person I got it from was a IV drug user I am not would that change how long it takes for my test to be positive or just his?
So can I ask another question? How would I get tested for a rare form of HIV? If it was something like that would something be abnormal on the viral load test or the PCR test or does those test only look for HIV 1 & 2. I ask this due to all the problems I keep having. When I google the different issues It keeps bringing up HIV symptoms.
Irrespective of what strain of HIV virus, antibodies produced by human body will be the same and they will be detected by the antibody test..thats what i believe :)
my mind is running in circles its been 12 weeks or so now. The reason Im so concerned is because I discovered about a month later this person was HIV poz. I asked him he said in June 10 he tested positive. He says he didnt have it when we had sex that way May? So confused! He says it HIV O. No one knows what Im talking about when I say HIV O.
So HIV 1 & HIV 2 antibody tests cover everything? If I test negative on a antibody test this week I can be sure I am not infected? 12 weeks is conclusive I have seen. This is the only place I can get info. Cant talk to anyone about it. Thank you so much!
Thanks for your time Teak. Much Appreciated I had one more quick question if you have time please reply. The tests I have taken are the Finger Prick Rapid Test I had three of them throughout June & July The July test was at about 10 weeks. Is that a reliable test? I have seen some posts that the rapid test are not very accurate. If these tests did not pick up an infection the viral load would have showed an increase. is that Correct?
