chances of HIV -2 Infection and Detection

Hi

Can any one tell me - which Test will detect HIV-2 infection ?... becoz i had an sexual relation with West African Ggirl  17 months back..

Did test as follows

1. after 8 months did test in Private clinic - Dont know which Test the did .. but result Negative...
2. after 14 months did CMIA(4th generation) - Dont Know whether its duo/ combi /antibody test.. but Result  Value    was 0.14 - Non Re-active ...

3. After 15 month - exactly on 16 month - Did western Blot Test...

Got result Like this


HIV 1-gp 160(ENV) - negative
HIV 1-gp 120(ENV) negative
HIV 1-P 66 (POL) negative
HIV 1-P55(GAG) Negative
HIV 1-P -51(POL) negative
HIV 1-gp 41 ENV negative
HIV 1-p 39 GAG negtive
HIV 1 -p31 POL negative
HIV -P24 GAG negative
HIV 1 -P 17 GAG Negative

HIV - 2 Negative

Conclusion  HIV1&2 negative

Remarks..
* WB is HIV confirmatory test..
* Indicative for HIV2 result must be confirmed by HIV-2 specific Western Blot Test...


I really worry about HIV 2 infection ..Should i test further ? I am running out of my mind .. full of tension and stressed about HIV 2 infection ...

I do have white creamy stuff in lips in the morning whn i wake up .. getting white creamy layer in inside upper lips .. is it Thrush ?

got few black spots on scrotum n edge of Penis .. and few Floaters on eye - 1 on right eye and 2 on left eye ..
Plz help me .. shouild i test further

I do understand tht i do clear HIV1... i Want to know .. Should i test for HIV-2 again ?

Is there any Specific WB test for Detection of HIV 2?

I think you might want to see a mental health professional. Not to be mean, but honey you have been tested way beyond the window perios (periods), you are in the clear as long as you have had no other exposure. HIV -2 is typically much more benign and less virulent than HIV-1 .  Most modern tests will always test for both. WB test is pretty accurate. I think for your own peace of mind get another antibody test for 1 &2, but they will certainly be negative.

it is important to remember that stress and anxiety can cause alot of bogus symptoms, I would recommend stop searching all the HIV sites. The only way to know is the test , go today and get a same day result, this worry will be off your shoulders by morning.

you have been tested for hiv 1 & 2, with negative results.

if you are having health concerns, see your doctor.  its not hiv related.
a forum should never substitute the one on one care of a dr.

If you haven't noticed how many times have you tested? All were negative, correct? Do you also know the symptoms you read of HIV are related to many other things? Your symptoms are obviously not HIV. See a doctor he may beable to refer you to a mental health professional stated above and help you with the things you are feeling.

i am getting itching n skin peeling inside groin and  few small black sopts in scrotum/testicle  and inner thighs .... but still have floaters in my eyes .. i think i am getting one more .. i think floaters started after 1 year of post exposure ....

I m agetting flotera and aprtfrom that i do have whit layerd skin in mouth in the morning when i wakr up and i do have some cheese kinda stuff in tongue in evening.. i do get some kinda white coloured cheese kinda cream from my gum in the evening  .....is it Thrush/oral candidasis ??

Hi Teak..

i am not just saying this becoz of i had sex with west african girl .. i did those test in Asia.. where stain 2 is not prelevant .. but  my condition is getting worse.. gettting some kinda black spots in side my hand - i mean palm... i did nt have these and am getting some small black spots in edge of nose .... plus i do have some pain in inside left palm....

when i googled i got some information that all thsese related to HIV infection ..... today i got one acne/pimple kinda  inside roof of my mouth .... aprt from that  i do have some light white coloured layer in side my mouth in morning .. then i did spit test .. to find out oral thrush ..  i got some white web/ line kinda stuff in bottom of my glass .... shows that ...kinda yeast infections ???

plz what will be the chances of HIV-2 infection .. here in this place i cant do confidental testing ... so plz advice me .. all above related to HIV2 infection .. should i test further ....my mind running crazy ...

Can i rely my CMIA 4th generation test .. becoz i was sure about HIV-1 infection through my WB test ....
