I had a lot of unprotected sex. I have every symptom of HIV. I'M SO SCARED. it's been 3 weeks. I'm almost sure I have it. Is a 3 week test accurate?

Thanks. Someone told me that oraquick is not that accurate though. :( I plan on going tomorrow, and then on my 6th week. After that I wont go again until the 6th. I hope I continue to test negative.

Hey..

Any negative test is always a great thing!!

There is a strong chance that antibodies would be detectable at this time.

You are going to be just fine. :)

So I tested negative at 4 weeks. I know this is not a conclusive result. But it's a good indicator of my status right?

Hey there.

I am sure you will be fine - just make sure that you keep to safe sex unless your partner has been proven to be in the clear via testing.

I am certain you will be okay you know!

Just as a final piece of reassurance - do not worry about symptoms, - they do not mean anything :)

Thanks. I hope so. I met a really great day. That I absolutely see a future with. He has insisted that we both go get tested. So I'm going to go at the end of the month. I noticed more woken lymph nodes. I'm trying not to freak out about it, because I know what's done is done. I just really hope I'm negative. I pray every night. I hope you guys will send your good energy my way.

Hi There.

You need to take a 4th Generation "Duo" blood test after 28 from you last exposure.

this test looks for the virus and the antibodies that our bodies produce to combat the virus, - as I said I am sure you will be Negative but make sure it is a 4th Generation test.

Here to help further if you need.

Best Wishes.

An Oraquick or any other AB test is only conclusive after 12 weeks post last exposure.

You are welcome.

I am CERTAIN you will have good news to report!! :)

The main thing to do is to change your behaviour with regards to sex, we have all been where you are now, - main thing is that we learn from what we do so w don't put yourself in the situation again :)

I really am sure you will be fine, - have your 28 day Duo 4th Gen test and then when you get your negative result, move on with a smile :)

You are and will be okay! :)

You have no idea how much I appreciate your response. I will take a test in 7 days, and hopefully I will have some good news to report.
If not, I guess I will have to just pick up the pieces to my life and move on.

You are welcome..

When I was worried three years ago, I met several people with HIV, they were amazing people - it may have stigma sadly but it is not a death sentence anymore.

Please do take on board that you have 99.99999% not caught HIV, get your test at 28 days to be certain and then move on, - I am so confident that you have not caught HIV I would put £100 on it without even meeting you! :)

Try to relax, have your test in seven days and then move on - I promise you will be fine :)

Hi there,

It does not matter how much sex you have had, the symptoms you have would not be from HIV they would be from Seroconversion and they are the same as a million other issues such as colds / thrush / aches and pains etc...

What you need to do is to relax, put things into perspective, the people you had sex with most probably did not have HIV, even if they did, it is a hard virus to transmit, you need to get a 4th generation blood test done at 28 days after your last unprotected sexual activity, - this test is widely considered conclusive at this point..

I would suggest that you avoid unprotected sex moving forwards unless you are in a committed relationship where both of you have been tested - it's just not worth the risks.

I am certain you will be fine at your 28 day test, ignore symptoms, they do not diagnose HIV.

I am sure you will be fine, book your 28 day test and relax, learn from your experience.

Keep in touch!
