glands, sore throat, and a red spot on my chest that I am unsure of if it was a rash. Can you get hiv without any other std's??? I get the results back from my hiv test that was redone and sent out in approximately two weeks, but I am really freaked out about it. Any information will help.Thank you
the current guidelines says 3 months..not 6 months not 1 year..
you have a negative test results..buy this time all tests can show a conclusive result..
you are negative..
yes you can get hiv without getting any std
however, not everyone has got hiv
dont think much about symptoms as they are not a diagnostic tool for hiv
many people in this forum have all kind of symptoms but test negative for hiv
so dont Google any symptoms up and stay positive for your test result
next time always use a condom never go unprotected..
Okay tested negative at 12-13 weekish. Still have swollen glands and body feels hot sometimes like I am running a fever. I asked the doctor what kind of test they used and I was told it was a first generation test??? The doctor also said that they use a 4th generation test to confirm. I don't think the doctor knows what they are talking about. She also said it is good to keep testing for a year after to be conclusive. This has gotten me really freaked out. Thank you for any input.

sorry i had my timeline a little messed up. Tested negative at 73 days post possible exposure. I know a lot of people come here stressing out like I am. Is there any cases where a normal fit person has seroconverted after 73 days, or am I just freaking out. I need to put this behind me. Also if you are having swollen glands one in armpit, one in groin and two in neck for over a month wouldn't that show up in a test??? Please a response will greatly help
having swollen glands does not effect the test result..your 10 week negative result is a veryy good indication of your status..most people would have seroconverted by this time..
however, just test again at 13 weeks as that is the current guideline
it should be another negative..
never go unprotected in the future
