confection with herpes and HIV seroconversion period extended

998 Excuse the typo. My delete button is not working. My issue is this: had sex vaginal with woman I later discovered was acute HIV positive.  Since the discovery I have been testedtested for everything with positive test returns for herpes 1 and 2. I have had negative 4th generation tests up to the 13th week mark.  I know most sites say 3 months is sufficient but they also say "barring any extenuating circumstances".  Well I the thethink I have a couple serious extenuating circumstances...contact with a highly contagious HIV positive person who obviously had no regard for safety and a known confection which experts agree herpes enables a much more likelih9ood of carrying with its transmission the HIV virus and some experts expert cite that herpes and hep c can extend the seroconversion period of HIV past the three months. So as you can see I am really freaking out now and need some very sound advice. Thank you all in anticipation of your replies.

Thank you both for your time and patience in your replies. I understand it is now my responsibility to attempt to move forward with some normalcy. Hopefully that day will come. Thanks again.

The thing friend, is that you had a 13-week test which is conclusive. So yes, I understand you are scared. You had a high risk exposure but you tested negative. Stop making crazy scenarios about the meds going in you or something like that. I think you can move on now.

Thank you for the quick response. So none of the factors I listed are plausible or even remotely possible? Ofnxoirse I want the tests to be negative in just can't wrap my head around the fact that she transferred me HPV and herpes but not HIV?! One last reply from you addressing my posted concerns would really put my mind at rest. Thank you again.

* Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusively negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to action by MedHelp. Conclusively negative results or a no-risk situation will be based upon the criteria established by MedHelp’s doctors. Action will be taken as follows:
    * After excessive posting, a warning will be issued by MedHelp
    * Continuing to post regarding the negative result / no risk situation will result in a 3 day suspension
    * Continuing to post upon your return will result in a permanent ban.

Thanks for the thread there. Of course through the whole article I picked out the part where the doctor said that if there was a high risk incident then the antibody test should be viewed with skeptisizm. But of course that is my mindset right now. One more question for you and teak please.  Actually a scenario...if the female was on pep during our encounter and some of the virus did transmit to me is it plausible that the affects of the medicines would transfer with the virus and therefore greatly slow down the replication of the virus in my body ultimately delaying seroconversion or possible reaction of my antibodies because of a low threat because the pep suppressed the virus even in my body after transfer? Or does her pep medication move my window period out as well (because I know it moves the window period for people on the medication). Also I have not been able to take an RNA test because I believe to be dealing with HIV 2 and nobody will approve that test so I just keep testing for antibodies. I know these maybe outlandish questions but I have not found much help through this difficult period and am now on my 7th day of fever, headache, swollen lymph nodes and joint pain in fingers and feet. Thank you guys so much for your help.

You don't have an HIV concern you have tested conclusively negative. STDs only increase the risk if you have had them for sometime and have not been treated. It would not increase because you contracted them at the same time.

Teak, it appears by your comment to my question that you believe me to be someone else. This is the first time I have ever posted on this site. I can see your concern however because I have been reading posts on this and other sites and some people have gone on and on to the point the facilitator or doctor has had to stop or block them. These sexual events are highly stressful and people reach out to others through these types of forums for possible similarities in cases and knowledge. We all don't have a support system in place at home. That all being said I will attempt the refrain from rambling on those site but stick to the issue at hand which is extremely real to me!

Thanks for your comment.  I am just having a very difficult time with this because I am a logical man and logic tells me that if herpes (and hpv I forgot to mention) then it would only make sense that HIV was transmitted also. I'm living each day for the other shoe to drop. Thanks to the many resources in my area I have been getting tested every week or two and we all know how stressful that is. Just this week (14) I started having all the symptoms of seroconversion which should normally take place at the 2 to 8 week mark...and I NEVER get the flu like symptoms.  And waking up in a puddle of sweat three nights in a row really freakednme out. I did talk to my doctor about the late seroconversion period and all he said was anything is possible...people have been known to test out to six months or even a year.

You had a high risk exposure and herpes does increase the risk of transmission. I doubt that such a high sensitive test such a 4th gen would not have caught your infection. As I understand, herpes helps with HIV replication, which I don't think will have effects on seroconversion. I believe you are HIV negative. As the opinion of your healthcare provider that is treating your Herpes infection.
