according to an article i read, lymph nodes become swollen when your body is fighting an infection. i have a swollen lymp node in my neck and another a little below my jaw bone. i did a 13 week just last week which returned negative.

1) if my swollen lymph nodes were due to hiv infection wouldnt the test have detected antibodies at 13 weeks?

2) does lymph nodes stay swollen in people with hiv, how long does it stay swollen?

please respond anyone, this is scaring me. i thought i could relax after my 13 weeks negative but it just worries me even more when i read about late serconversion and still having swollen node.

1. yes
2. I've never had swollen lymph nodes.

What is with your other post if you are now saying you just tested last week and it was your 13 week test?

swollen glands do swell at the pont of infection.... "POINT OF INFECTION" In other words if it is a non viral illmess, the glands will swell near where the problem is. I am sure you notice this at time before, sore throat, glands swell in neck area, not in groin area.....?

A viral infection, the virus is over the intire body, no real point of localization. Then you would expect glands to swell through out the body, not just in one location.

In a nut shell, I don't think you have an issue here. You tested negative, lucky you.

If you want to retest go ahead, but negative is negative, please don't keep this up 6-10 months down the road.

i wish you luck, and like I said, I think u r OK
