cunnalingus,syphilis & HIV?

Ok, now I am confused.

My girlfriend is now showing signs of syphalis. She seems to have a chancre. I am sure it is as it looks just like all the web pages have confirmed it to be.

This is where I am now confused.

Cunnalingus - Low to no risk of acquiring HIV.

Cunnalingus - Very easy to catch syphalis via cunnalingus.

Syphalis - Extremely high risk of having HIV if you have syphalis! If syphalis occurs you are immediately changed from low risk to high risk. As the doctor has said previously on other pages.

I have shown no signs of symptoms of syphalis, but am very aware that I can pass it on without showing symptoms.

HELP PLEASE I'M FREAKIN OUT HERE!

This could be a number of things -- of which "syphilis" might be...

Herpes also comes to mind. Or, it may simply be an allergic reaction to a type of lubrication you are using during intercourse.

When they say "there's an extremely high risk of HIV if you have Syphilis", they are saying that MOST people tend to ignore the chancre sores and proceed with sexual activity and are, therefor, at greater risk of contracting HIV (due to the chancre being an open-wound)

People often mistake syphilis chancres for being "heat blisters" or other ailments and then continue to have sex, regardless. My advice to you and your girlfriend: STOP the sex until you've got a diagnosis from a doctor.

It is for this very reason that medical professionals become alarmed when there's an outbreak of syphilis in any given area.

Often times, with a syphilis infection, the chancre sore is painless. Is your girlfriend's chancre painless?

I would recommend that you go to the nearest STD/Public Health Clinic and be checked for syphilis -- both of you! Tommorow!

They will have to do a blood draw to determine if it's indeed syphilis. They might also run an HIV test on the same blood draw, but DO NOT be alarmed, this is standard procedure...

Please don't hesitiate to show them her chancre ! Also, please be absolutely HONEST with them about your sexual history. As medical professionals, it is NOT their job to judge, but to remedy the suspected illness. The more details they have, the better off you and your girlfriend will be.

As a precaution, the clincians and/or doctor will likely give both of you a large shot of antibiotic in the ass and proscribe a rather strong dosage of antibiotic treatment in the form of pills. They will probably do this even before they get the test results back.

Good Luck! You will be in my thoughts and prayers tonight!

Just because someone my have syphilis does not mean that they have HIV. If you think you or your gf has syphilis go get tested, get your medication and clear it up. The way the story goes is, "If you have untreated syphilis you are 5 more at risk to contract HIV.

To: Teak and others.
So you think it is high risk if I had syphilis and sores and then her vaginal fluid entered into the sores than I am at higher risk?

I have no sores. Not even in my mouth, so how could I have passed it onto my girlfriend?

So does this then lower my chances if I had no sores on my testicals, penis... during intercourse?

What about if i had a sore in my mouth I was unaware of like bleeding gums which i suffer from? Not bleeding at the time.

Thanks.

No risk, not high or low. It's no risk.

Herpes would probably be best answer.  45 million people in U.S. have genital herpes.  1 out of every 4 women
