dna pcr at 12 weeks

How accurate is hiv dna pcr at 12 weeks? I know you can take an antibody test at this time also for a conclusive result. but just wondering. I am thinking about taking a dna pcr and an antibody test at 12 weeks.

3 months is when one can get a conclusive negative result. There are no tests approved to give a conclusive negative test earlier than 3 months.

plzhelpca,

Read the Dr's forums on test times here.  If you test negative with an antibody test now, you don't have HIV.

Don't waste your money on a PCR test at this point.  This is tantamount to throwing your cash in the trash.

12 weeks x 7 days a week = 84 days

A PCR-DNA test is not an approved diagnostic test. As you've been told just take the antibody test at 12 weeks.

so what you are saying is since I am only 2 more weeks away from my 12 week test I just have to do a standard antibody test?

84 days will be conclusive thats when i stopped testing i would do a rapid test and not waste my money on the other test plus you will know your results in 10 to 30 mins

I am thinking of getting both hiv dna pcr and hiv antibody test at 84 days. Do you all think I should get both? If not why?
