dots on penis and sore throat

by tomtee98, May 30, 2007 12:00AM
I had some sexual encounters in the past but all protective. I had last encounter around 3 months back. 4 weeks ago, i had cramps followed by fever, dizziness, serious sweating, mild diarrhea. Doctor told me it is a viral infection (stomach flu / e-coli) and will go away itself. I wasn't satisfied so i kept on going to the doc and she took  some blood tests (no clue which ones) but it came out ok. all she told me was "no infection in the blood and your amenia is also ok and not to worry". a week later, all symptoms went away but i started having inflammation in my eyes and went to the doc again and he tested my eyes (reading the board) and it was normal too., I noticed a pimple beside the head of my penis and it was itchy. I applied some creams and itchiness went away but the pimple is still there but senseless. after few days, i noticed some small dots (pin size) around my penis head and they were also not itchy but only when I squeeze they irritate me. I applied some general cream for "spots" but nothing happened. then all of a sudden I noticed red spots at random places on my body (very less) especially on the chest and the back, but again painless. i have some pain in my neck too. I had pain while urinating for 2 days but it went away itself. i have a small lump on my jaw which is not painful but it came out just 2 days back and just had some bleeding through it. my throat is hurting and lower side of my jaw (above the neck) is also painful. not to mention severe anxiety

None of your symptoms suggests HIV.  From your description, I cannot tell whether the 'spots' on your penis might be due to an STD, such as herpes or molluscum contagiosum--but I doubt it.  Most important, you have seen a doctor who has reassured you that your symptoms don't mean anything serious, and a personal examination by a health care provider is always more reliable than an online opinion.  But if you remain concerned, return to your doctor for further advice and possible HIV/STD testing.

Good luck--  HHH, MD

Thanks doc but if possible just read a little bit more and give your advice. I'd be really greatful to your kindness. I did have some night sweats too lately but I am not sure if it was anxiety or actually something serious. I usually couldn't sleep the whole night b'coz i am too much afraid of night sweats but when I wake up at night, sometimes i feel my neck to be lil wet from the back. Is it only anxiety? I also had some pain in the legs for sometime. The sore throat i mentioned in my email has almost gone within 3 - 4 days. The lump i had is also vanishing. I'd be greatful even if you reply me with just "shut up" but please doc, do reply to. THanks a million.

The effects of anxiety can be far reaching and debilitating.  You should look up the symptoms of anxiety, it's a long long list.  I'm diagnosed with anxiety disorder and have to fight it every day.  It's made me feel sick, ache, tired, dazed, separated from reality.  Don't get me started on the stomach problems...  Once that starts it's a downward spiral because you start to think other things are wrong with you.  Thankfully those days are mostly behind me.

The advice here is good and encouraging because the moderator IS a doctor.  I find myself visiting here mostly to try and reassure people that anxiety can and WILL make you feel sick.  Worrying about acquiring a disease/illness is a place I've been before so I can relate.   I'm far from being a doctor but I can tell you from my own personal experience.  Research some relaxation methods, also, music is good for easing the mind. :)
