I have performed oral sex to a person I barely know. After that I got worried and tried calling him but he refuses to get my call. All I want to know if is he is hiv negative ( I should have done that before) Anyway, I performed oral sex during an hour more or less and he did not ejaculate in my mouth.During the oral sex performance there must have been preseminal fluids. I went to hospital 2 days later, told the situattion and they gave me AZT  for 30 days- just in case because I had a fit of histeria practically-and an innoculation for hepatitis B.Plus a series of blood tests.  I dont know what my chances  of getting HIV are SUPPOSSING he is HIV positive, which I ignore. PLease help me, I am desperate.

You desperately overreacted, and the people who gave you AZT should be stripped of their medical licenses.

You will not get HIV from what you did.  I hope you do not come down with any of the serious side effects from unneeded AZT.

Peek is right. AZT being an HIV drug, should have not been prescribed for you, since you did not a risk to begin with. Oral sex for givers in the absence of full blown ejaculation is no risk situation and ejaculation adds only a very small build up to the risk structure.

Apart from the profilaxis (Zidovudine) prescribed they gave me hepatitis b vaccine... I have read on the net that if I get that vaccine the ELISA test will be positive..IS THIS SO?.I AM SCARED TO DEATH. PLEASE REPLY ASAP ANYONE. I WILL HAVE RESULTS ON MONDAY I AM ANXIOUS AND I CANT STOP CRYING. I FEEL AWFUL.

I can guarantee you that YOU'RE HIV NEGATIVE, you never had a risk to begin with.

Don't worry about a false positive, incase you get a false positive (which is possible due to the Hep vaccination) follow it up immeidiately with a Western Blot test (WB test is a specific test for HIV )

I agree with peek, you were completely misguided.
