fever blisters

Can fever blisters be brought on by stress alone or is this just a myth?  I didnt have one for almost 2 years and now i have had 2 in as many months.

Is a fever blister a cold sore...if yes, then I do believe outbreaks in herpes can be caused by stress.

Fever blisters are often associated with stomach problems.  Stress and anxiety are notorious for causing stomach problems.

There was a comment from somebody named 'E.John' concerning a subtype/strain found in Thailand that apparently was more easily transmitted via heterosexual encounters. He also made a leap regarding longer seroconversion times for this strain (bullshit, of course...I found articles stating the opposite). Both links he sent really weren't conclusive (and were years old). I'm getting there, though, man. Focusing on work has been difficult (but improving) and I've been getting outside a bunch and trying to keep my mind off it (biking, hiking, etc.) and that's helped. In an alcohol induced state (dammit) I told a couple of friends and my brother about my concerns; they wrote me off pretty quick, of course. Closer...

I would imagine there is like an HIV 3,4,5,6,7&8 strain in places overseas that no one has discovered.

It had to be fun living in the 60s and 70s, sex with no condoms, and no worries of dying from it. I think I would have enjoyed being a hippie for a year or 2.

Man if you test positive (and you won't) It will be a false postive.  Don't sweat it man.  We dodged the bullet.  I would tell you to learn from your mistakes, but really, you didn't make any.  You had safe sex.  I on the other hand, have learned a big lesson about fidelity and safe sex.  I felt so guilty about what I did that it damn near killed me.  Funny thing is, I couldn't remember why I had strayed, but after months of treating my wife like a queen (which was not uncommon), I have been reminded.  She and I don't really click.  She treats me like sh*t, and I don't deserve it.  But all of this is subject for another thread.  The point is that now I don't feel as guilty and my body is responding by not feeling as sick.

I don't know if I'm getting better, but I know I need to test. Jag is neg. I think he's just hear giving advice to others. Bluebell seems to be the latest one losing it. I remember when I would post a new question every other minute. Id probably still be doing it, if people didn't stop answering my questions.

Hey Jag,
I am also having a 77 days negative test and this man(E.J.) really got my nerves down.Why persons post such things(SH...T) here.
I also had every listed symptoms of ars apart from fever after a protected sex.
I got too many responses from very prominent persons so as of now  I take myself as negative.Just trying to start my life just like a new one.(wish me luck)

I've had the strangest conditions as well (now seeing some floaters, though it could be due to stress + *new* contacts + lack of sleep). I would cockpunch that ectomorph if I saw him. I think I'll get one more test just to be sure (at the earliest this friday) and for peace of mind. Then I'll start symptom searching for another disease; expect to see me all over medhelp!!!

Dude, you crack me up.  What it do?...freakin hillarious.  I have decided I am pregnant.  That is what is wrong with me.  It has to be so, I have all of the symptoms.  I tested for it 12 times and they were all negative, but I know I got myself knocked up.

(although I suppose it could be dry eyes, trying contacts for the first time less than a month ago, staring at computers all day long, getting way less sleep than I need, residual effects from my LSD experiments years ago, etc.)

Well, I don't know what you mean by a light, but trust me I know where you are coming from.  I was probably the most freaked out SOB this forum has ever seen.  I had ALL the symptoms, and still have some.  LIke you I tested in the 80 day range and doubted it.  I wasn't satisfied until I went back and tested at 5 months.  I just knew I was going to be the "one"  in a million.  Be proud of yourself.  YOu are taking the responsibility of getting tested.  If everyone would do that maybe we could eradicate this effin dis-ease.  You are fine man.  77 days, I know its hard to believe, but its gold dude.  Have a beer, take a deep breath, look around at all the wonderful things around you, and say...life is good.  Life is good.  Lets try to live it.  You, me, Jag, poor ol' BD, and many others have been beating ourselves up over this for far too long.

I got the floaters too.  Had em since I was 10.  Just a pain in the ass more than anything.  Or maybe it's a side effect of being pregnant.  I also think I might have come down with Mad Cow disease and hoof and mouth disease.
