getting hiv from vagina fingering

by parrot 12, Jan 21, 2007 12:00AM
dear doc,
i went to visit one of this sauna massage place in town and choose to spend half an hour with one of the girl.
I decided not to have any sex whatsoever thus i always tought that even with an accurate protection,u can still be unlucky;
for example if the condom broke probably the chance of receving hiv will be high especially if u go and visit one the places that i already mention above.
Of course this is my choice and  my opinion even that im well aware and i agree that using a condom while having sex with an hiv infected person will be safe.
Now, while i was with this girl i started to finger her vagina for few minutes and i kind of new that no infection can be transmitted during this kind of experience but after i finished i realized that on my index,( the finger wich i used) near the nail the skin was peeling off and also a bit broken. I carefully cheked the area and no sign of blood was found but the next day started to bleed a bit.
So,am i at risk after this experience? Also for my knwledge and everyone else,if my finger was bleeding a bit while the fingering and let`s say the girl had hiv, could u still being at risk? I know that u are already answer this kind of question but thats why im more specific. Sometimes i don`t understand because if u have unprotected sex and the vagina fluid(carring hiv) went inside your penis naturally u are at risk but what if the same fluid went near the finger with broken skin maybe with bit of blood? Could be a way in for the infected fluid? I appreciate for your time.

Thanks

Thanks anyway

Unfortunately, you won't get an answer from the doctor on this forum, because he doesn't post. He answers questions in the HIV Prevention forum, which he moderates. You can try to post this question there, but be prepared to potentially have it deleted without an answer.

Why? Because fingering is not a risk for HIV infection. Try searching the moderated forum for questions similar to yours. I am sure the answers that the doctor has given to these questions will make you feel much better.

Take care.

host,
i appreciate for your time and im well aware that fingering
it`s not a risk for hiv but if u read my question carefuly i wrote a specific situation to try to understand that if your finger was bleeding a bit near the nail would make a possible "way in "for infected vagina fluid.

Parrot,

But I did read that part of your question. I don't believe that makes a bit of difference. In the history of the HIV virus, how many men do you suppose have fingered how many women? Undoubtedly, some of those men had small nicks on their fingers. And yet, not one of them caught HIV. No one catches it this way as far as I know.

I've actually seen questions like this in the moderated HIV Prevention forum, Parrot. If you need the extra reassurance, go there and do a search on something like, oh, "fingering risk", or something similar. You will be reassured by what you read.
