had protected sex but

i had protected vaginal sex but a few days after i got herpes above penis base. What is likelihood i could have gotten hiv through this incident. I heard that herpes increases chances of hiv by 4 times is this also true is you had protected sex.

Take your questions to the STD Forum they are not an HIV concern.

If you have been diagnosed with gential herpes then you have it for life and can have outbreaks at anytime. But if you have more herpes questions please post in the herpes community. As for HIV like Teak and myself said you do not have a risk.

no i just assumed because of symptoms according to info it takes between 2- 20 days and this was 6 days after. another thing the girl i went out with said she had never had herpes si i am thinking maybe it was just a recurrence from previous herpes 7 years earlier

Where you diagnosed with herpes because a few days after is too soon for herpes to appear.

Protected sex is just that...means no risk.
