hair loss
hello every1...!!
is hair loss one of the symptoms for hiv, like i have been observing that i have a patch on my wrist where am loosing hair...its almost been 2-3 weeks that hair is not growing back rather the patch is becoming bigger, i have had a 7 week ELISA test which was negative. is there anything to worry!!

ELISA is the rapid test. Rapid test takes 15 - 20 minutes to get the result. Rapid test is reliable if taken on the right time. Having said that, your 7 week rapid test result is a great indication of your status.
in past 3 weeks i convinced myself that there aint any problem with me and symptoms have started to fade away, i guess its all in the head, will still take a test asap just for complete relief...!!
just one last thing am from india, do they follow same standards of testing all trough the world, am talking about ELISA HIV 1&2, i got my result in about 8 hours...!!

NO symptoms mean nothing when it comes to HIV. The only way to know ones status is to test. As TomMulligan has told you a 7 week test is a good indacation but you need to re-test at 3 months for conclusive results. It is unlikely for a 7 week test to change at 3 months. odds are highly on your side!
thnx for ur reply, i had sex with my friend without protection....i got two tests, 1st in 1st week and second in 7th week, both gave same result 0.29 negative, i cant go for another test anytime soon....am a lil relaxed because am 7 week negative, but just keep getting scared with any change in my body....!!!
7week result is a great great indication of your status. Hair loss is not HIV related symptoms. what is your exposure btw?
