was in tact when i pulled out. I want to get on PEP. I know the risk of infection from my encounter is minimum but PEP is 79% effective and its not like my encounter was 100% safe. So in theory wouldnt PEP only help my odds??? Please help!!! my 72 hours are up 6/15 at 4am.
Here is my dilema. No one can say that my exposure was 100% safe. If PEP is 79% effective........ than taking the course of anti virals will only increase my odds on not contracting the virus, however small those odds might be.
Unless you seen the condom fail and you knew for a fact that the person you were having sex with was HIV positive would you be within the guidelines to receive nPEP. nPEP can affect the kidneys and liver causing failure and also cause mental issues. It's not given haphazardly.
After two decades of research a UN Report stated that HIV; Failure Rate Found to Be 10 Percent. Is this true? people still get pregnant while using condoms why would hiv be an exception?

About a month ago I slept with an escort. I fingered her anally, and vaginally and I went down on her. I used a condom for penetration. As far as Im aware, the condom didn't break. Would I be right in thinking that I am not at risk of HIV, or would you think I need to have a test for it? I've been tested for other STD's but have to wait another week for results. Your forum is fantastic by the way! You should feel wonderful for the reassurance you provide to people who feel they have nowhere else to turn!
Best Regards

Hello, there!
Thank you very much for your very kind comments about our forum.
Regarding your question, you are certainly right to say that you do not need to have a HIV test because you have not put yourself at risk of HIV infection whatsoever. There is no risk from fingering or performing oral sex on a lady. It is wise that you have been tested for other STDs and from your encounter the only ones that might have contracted would have been throat Chlamydia or Gonorrhoea (tested with a throat swab) and syphilis (tested with a blood test).
I hope this helps.
Best wishes,
Jose

Thanks for your reassuring words Doctor. If another STD has transmitted orally, does that increase the risk of me having contracted HIV or does the zero risk remain? I should point out also that I suffer from very fragile gums. I don't know if that changes anything?

HIV cannot survive in saliva. That is why there is no risk. You would need to ingest vast amounts of HIV infected vaginal fluid in the presence of bleeding mouth sores. And even under these circumstances, the risk would be negligible. No need to worry about HIV.
Best wishes,
Jose

i forgot this partly because I was messed up, but when finishing the girl took condom off and finished up with lotion and hand job. what if there were cuts or fluids that transgressed boundries?? That was not protected. I am freaking out, please advise.
