We are just on the same boat we share a similar situation, experts say that ppl like us are experiencing HIV anxiety, but that's so hard to believe because when it comes to me I'm going paranoid ...it's just the 5/6 day after exposure and kinda experiencing all possible symptoms, I just had 10-15 sec of unprotected exposure....any ways all we could do is pray to the almighty for sparing us and if we get a second chance never repeat what we did in the past
Too soon to have sort of symptoms at 8 days. ARS comes after 2 weeks and before 4 weeks. BTW chance of HIV from a unprotected sex with a + female is 1:2000. Also, you don't know that she had any STD so the stats are even more in you favor. Go on with life and test at 3 months if your still worried.
Don't look for symptoms - you'll drive yourself mad. There are no definitive symptoms for ARS as lots of other commoner infections can cause similar ones and some HIV+ people don't develop any symptoms at all. Like eaman says, if you had unprotected sex with a known HIV+ person, the chances of transmission are pretty low (1 in 2000). Testing with standard Ab tests at 6 weeks are pretty indicative while a test at 3 months is considered conclusive.
