hiv anxiety

hey guys...i am a male 22 y old... ok i had unprotected sex with a guy... i am triyng to forget about it cause i have some regrets.... so i wanted to get screened for hiv... i went to the national hospital and the doctor there said to get tested on the 21 day after my exposure (wich i did and it was negative) and again after 1-2 months to confirm...
but i was very anxious and i re- tested 6 weeks after my exposure also negative thank god again.... my first test was plain elisa (at the national hospital) ok now the second one was done to a private clinic and it was the4th gen duo test with the p 24 antigen,,,,( i ve done some reasearch about it in my efford to get some knoladge on the topic)...
And in the private clinic they said to me that 3- 6 months is the window period and that i should  get re tested at 6 months!!!???? but in the national hospital 2 months where coslusive... also the doctor that i spoke to the private clinic i said to here that "i knew that only people with shatered immune systems took longerthann 3 months to develop anti bodies" and she replied "no with hiv this is not the case anyone can be up to 6 months.... and as i was worried to death i called the hiv hotline in my country and they said that the greek guidelines which are in accordance with the EU guidlines for testing and for the testing that the national hospitals 2 months was conclusive and i would need no further testing ( but i thought that the 4 th gen duo with antigen was better and more efficient that plain elisa that the nationals use but the window periods are contradictory) can anyone help me.... why i get this differend info by these Doctors and "experts"? i appriciate and tresure your responce!!!! peace to all

Current methods for the detection of HIV may not detect all infected individuals. An ARCHITECT HIV Ag/Ab Combo test result that is nonreactive does not exclude the possibility of exposure to or infection with HIV-1 and/or HIV-2. Nonreactive results in this assay for individuals with prior exposure to HIV-1 and/or HIV-2 may be due to antigen and antibody levels below the limit of detection of this assay.

UK testing guidelines.
Post-test discussion

The need for a repeat HIV test if still within the window period after a specific exposure should be discussed. Although fourth generation tests shorten the time from exposure to seroconversion a repeat test at three months is still recommended to definitively exclude HIV infection.

Hi Aristotelis, I got more or less the same info when I went for a test. In the national hospital they told me three months. Then, in a private clinic, they told me six months. Then,I start reading literature about HIV testing. I learned that 3rd generation ELISA are able to detect early as well as late antibodies (IgG and IgM), and that aproximately 50% of people develop antibodies by 30 days. And by three months almost all people. Then, 4th generation ELISA test also for viral p24 protein which is normaly at high levels during the first weeks of the infection (the peak is arround day 28). The point is that when p24 start to low down, antibodies start to peak. So, a 4th generation at six weeks is able to detect both kind of molecules. Thats way you can think you are negative. If you want, for your tranquility you can re test at three months.Modern ELISA tests are very accurate.

Hi, the 4th generation test look for antibodies as well as for antigen (a core protein from the virus), so if it was negative at six weeks, it is very very very very likely that you are negative. Most people (more than 98 percent) develop antibodies before three months. Besides, modern ELISA test (3dr and 4rth) generation look for early and late antibodies and are very accurate. I think you are ok. I'm new in this forum, but I think other more experienced people here will tell you the same.
