glands in my groin for years. I have had a conclusive negative hiv antibody test 6 months after noticing the groin nodes so I guess it has to do with my herpes infection. Well 6 weeks post possible exposure i have developed swollen glands under my chin down my neck and around my collarbone. ( I also have a golf ball sized abdominal mass right under my left rib cage that has not been diagnosed) I have not had a fever or headaches. I had a mild sore throat but it is winter and i work outside and everyone has been getting sick lately. I have noticed a slight redness near my collarbone but doctor said it was vessels that surfaced.
1. Could my hiv dna with pcr test, backed by a antibody test be false negative at 26 days post exposure. the counselor from the site said 95 percent accurate at 21 days?
2. should I retest now at 6 weeks I am so scared?
3. I had a cest x ray but was told nothing abnormal could this mass in my abdomen be the culprit?
My main concern is the accuracy of my test results at 26 day!!
Thanks for reading and thank you for any answers and advise you would provide
I am so scared I am in week six and freaking out, my anxiety is unreal. What test do you recommend at 6 weeks post exposure. should I get another hiv dna backed by antibody test again or just the antibody test.
You should have had a DUO test at 26 days because that is a diagnostic test, take an antibody test at 6 weeks but if you used protection I don't see any risk having occured anyway.
How can stdexpress.com advertise 95 percent after 21 days? Should this be illegal, after early testing what if someone suggests they are negative and exposes someone else because the website sells there test at 95 percent at 21 days post exposure?
This what I am talking about and have been verbally attacked for.If the EXPERT doctors here at medhelp are giving certain percentages of accuracy for certain HIV tests at certain time periods then they must be believed and adhered to.I can't comment on that website specifically but what I can say is that if you ask one of our expert doctors how accurate your test is then their answer should be enough for you to be satisfied to move on.
PCR-DNA Tests
Neither the Abbott RealTime nor the Roche COBAS AmpliPrep/COBAS TaqMan HIV-1 assay is intended to be used as a donor screening test for HIV-1 or as a diagnostic test to confirm the presence of HIV-1 infection.

Had you had an exposure inwhich you didn't there are no tests marketed or sold that will give a conclusive negative test earlier than 3 months post exposure.

I am not going to argue about HIV window periods,go through the expert doctors forum and read the information that they have given previous posters about HIV DNA test results, and what they say about this particular test.
The PCR-DNA are not approved diagnostic tests. PCR-DNA tests are monitoring tests for people that are positive so that the progression of their HIV status can be followed.
clearviewr rapid antibody test at 49 and 55 days negative. still showing some symptoms are these test fairly accurate at those times either way i will test out to 3 months thanks
