After 5months of exposure i did hiv duo .it came back negative with a value of 0.14.teak or some one please tell me always there will some value in this kind of test even if its negative.why 0value is not coming.thanks .teak am expecting your answer.

P24 antigen test are used to help diagnose in early HIV infections. The test does not look for antibodies it is looking for antigens.
k teak txs for your kindly and timely ans.if u dont mind one more question.in duo p24 test also used.wil p24 detects hiv 1and 2. Like elisa abs test . Wil p24 antigen test detects both strians and if not why it is used in duo test.this ans may be useful to all.
Index value is calculated from the ratio of the measured value of the patient sample and the negative control (Sample/Control, S/Co). Values below 1 are considered negative, values above 1 as reactive.

It's an index value and yes you will always have an index value. You are conclusive negative as I'm sure your read it on your copy of the HIV testing paperwork.
sorry vance iam from india .in the test result they are mentioning the result value.in the reference value more than 1.0 is positive.ex in my result it was o.14 but they didnt mention positive or negative .thats y i posted question here.can u pls help me to clarifie .
Again the number is meaningless everyone gets a number. In the US we don't use the number for anything it is negative or positive. You can test again and it might be .58 or .02 negative is negative.
