hiv from allergy shot needle

So 10 months ago i was giving an allergy shot and when i recapped the needle it went through the cap and stuck my finger , i went to the er , got tested was neg for hiv,hep b and c and was started on PEP , at the end of my therapy i missed a couple doses .

I'm going to get tested this week but im curious does me missing a dose screw up the whole thing ?

What are the odds that i could in fact be hiv+...im really scared.

Any answers would be greatly appreciated, thanks

dont know how that is possible.  the needle is not as long as the cap and it snaps back on and stops.

it bent through the side anyway it happened soo fast and im scared to death just wanted some advice thanks

It is impossible for the needle to pierce the cap.. they are made "pierce-proof." And the needle is not going to bend to the side while it's inside a solid plastic cap! Even if this did happen, I truly believe you have nothing to be worried about. HIV can't be transmitted from a simple needle poke unless infected bodily fluids were injected into you. Needle sticks are scary situations but I really don't think you need to be worried.

Lesson learned: NEVER EVER EVER recap needles.
