hiv results messed up?

Hi there, today was day 91 and I went in for my conclusive hiv test. It was done via fingerprint. The tester used an alcohol swab/gauze to clean my finger, but he did not let the alcohol dry before he pricked my finger aND drew the blood into the tester tube. My question is since my finger was indeed wet with alcohol, could he have contaminated the blood sample and skew the results? Could the alcohol have killed the virus? My result was negative but the fact he used the first drop of blood and rubbing alcohol was still wet, worries me. Thank you for any assistance.

The HIV virus isn't involved in the test in any way. No worries!

Ok thanks. I was concerned the alcohol could have deactivated the virus causing a false negative. Thanks for your response!

The rapid fingerstick HIV tests are more or less foolproof, and I can't imagine that a little alcohol would make any difference. Your result is conclusive.

Best wishes and stay safe!
