hiv risk after fingering

by parrot 12, May 12, 2007 12:00AM
hi everyone,

after fingering someone, which has hiv, and knowing that a smallm cut was on my finger, could i still be in danger of catching hiv?

1)does the cut has to be fresh or its fine if is few days old?

2)do u think that there is enough hiv in the vagina fluid if gets close or in contact with the cut

3)the cut could be a possible way in  for hiv if present in the vagina fluid

thanks

You did not have a risk even if it would have been a fresh cut. No one has ever been infected via fingering. That includes, cut, scraps, nicks or abraisons.

Dr. HHH recently said that a fresh cut on the finger could result in risk?

Any comment on this conflicting information?

Fresh cut is ozing blood and I really do not think anyone would be wanting a bloody finger going in them. You would know if you had a open bleeding wound.

Read the post, the cut was not bleeding, his finger was cut an hour or two before the incident.

so if its not bleeding then there is no problem. Teak is right.

Hes a doctor and I am not but from what I read I never seen a documented case of HIV from that. Teak teachs about HIV and has mor knowledge then I do. I am no way an expert.

That is what confuses me, when two credible sources provide different information.

people.... anyone can write any status on their profile...

the cut...it is possible to trasmit HIV...it is unlikely though if it is not bleeding...it depends on how think the skin is where the cut is...and how much healing it has done...

HIV needs one blood cell to get into..and if that one blood cell gets into the bloodstream again.... you may get infected...

The Virus entering your body isnt a garentee that you will be infected, from what i understand , and in that thread he states that the vaginal liquids entering a wound in small amounts is unlikely to lead to infection. sound about right ?

Look at the dates on the posts before replying to them. That thread is over a year old.
