hiv risk exposure

Hi dr edward i live in australia, i received brief oral sex from a sex worker for about 20 sec before pulling out and so after 9 weeks i had a hiv1,hiv2 test done which came back negative so i was wondering if i should retest again at 12 weeks and what are the chances that i have hiv.thanks your response will do a lot of good.

this is not the expert forum but i can tell you you were not at risk for catching hiv...it is not transmitted through oral sex.

are you sure because i read in the cdc website that there have been documented cases og hiv been transmitted through oral sex.

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV.

how sure are of that why would the cdc say that if it wasnt true i just want to be assured if i have to take another test at the 3 month mark. thanks.

im  100% sure if u do not believe me go over to the expert forum many people have asked the same question. These are experts who have studies stds/hiv for years. You are okay there was no risk for you.

i very much understand what your saying but why are numerous goverment agencies saying that oral sex is small risk for  hiv and that 12 week result is conclusive( i had mine at 9 weeks).

what makes u say that hiv through oral sex is no risk when the cdc has mentioned that there have been a few documented cases.
