If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
3. We did major open mouth kissing, and my ips were red and perhaps chapped and chaffed.
4 he came on my chest and then about two minutes later, was kissing my chest. i kissed him and was certain i got some come on my lips, perhaps on my tongue.
So, the big question is am i at risk or significant rsk for hiv from the come on the lips or even the rimming?
it seemed so obvious to me until i was actually with someone who is hiv positive.
i am at 14 days with no symptoms, except i am run down and feel like a cold is coming on.....have i past a sero conversion window?
i also should have asked viral load, but didnt think it mattered because i knew i was not going to engage in high risk behavior.
You didn't have a risk. Rimming or open mouth kissing. In 25+ years there has been one case documented for open mouth kissing and it could not be confirmed.
As Teak said, nothing you described is a risk for HIV. Even with your chapped lips and possibly minute traces of semen, open mouth kissing is not a risk. In short, you did not have a risk.
You say that there is conflicting information out there about the risk levels of certain activities. While I know that is true, not one reputable source that I have ever seen lists kissing as a risk, nor rimming. I am not infallible, so perhaps I have just missed something, but I doubt it in this case.
You had safe sex. You could continue to have sex (like the encounter you described) with an HIV+ partner and expect to stay HIV- the rest of your life.
Congrats on taking a RATIONAL, responsible approach to safer sex.
does this change things?
