as i said before i had sex with a prostitute on may 4th. i wore 2 condoms. i had a rash 2 weeks before and it is gone now. i got a small swelling which can be felt uner the skin of armpit.  i want to get tested . which test is good ? as it is only 40 days after exposure.  i am feeling really tensed and no sleep at nights. my parents are fearing the worst. so please help me.

Raj - I have exactly the same symptoms as you.  I got a diagnosis yesterday and I am taking medicine for it now.  And my diagnosis is not HIV or any STD by the way - just something common and boring.  So Raj - get yourself to a dermatologist.  I know how stressing your unexplained symptoms are.  I had them for 3 months myself.  It's a bore but you have to crack on and get your diagnosis.

i am getting small baumps all over my face and also having itching and tingling sensations. i am feeling as iif some one is hurting me with a pin on my feet and hands. i consulted an ent specialist and he said my entire throat is red because of some infection .  please  tell me weather these  are symptoms of hiv.

I am sure that you know that there are plenty of straightforward bacteria and some plain old viruses that you could have caught through this exposure or coincidentally at around this time which would have an effect on your mouth.  They can upset the normal flora that you have in your mouth and so your taste and your breath could be affected by this.  Check this out with your doc or dentist.  You may need some antibiotics or an anti-fungal.  Maje sure that you are drinking enough fluids.  Make sure your oral hygiene is really good.  Look after yourself and get this checked out quickly because you will feel much better about everything.  Lots of people here have this and they turn out negative by the way.  This is very common.

There are many factors that can lead to such symptoms.HIV can't be the sole cause.If you had used condoms properly  then  there is nothing to worry about. i.e condom has covered  your penis(especially the tip)and there was no condom breakage or slip that exposed the tip or any fresh wound on your penis.

Raj you have to remove all your fears of HIV from you mind.I feel it is your guilt that is causing you much more harm.Move on with your life.You are fine.Stop worrying .Because there is nothing to worry about.

Play safe.Use condoms always.

i am getting regular low grade fevers and some lesions in my mouth,and some bad smell even after brushing several times ,i am having pains in chest.are these symptoms of hiv , plesase help me.

Hi Raj,

Condom protected sex is safe sex for all practical purposes. Relax, no need to test. I have 2 thoughts for you:

1. Using 2 condoms might sound safer, but in reality increases the chance of condom breakage due to friction between the condoms. A single condom of a reputed brand used correctly is all you need for protection. OK, now this does not mean that in this case your condoms broke, if condoms break, one definitely gets to know

2. If your anxiety is related to your decision of having sex with partners of unknown status, maybe you could revisit your lifestyle. Worrying about HIV drains not just your mind and body, but also your soul.

don't worry..Same thing happen to me few moths back and I made a big drama out of it..I laugh sometimes on what has happened. ..So don't go through the symptoms..It can be psychological ...Go move on with your life..

don worry..you are tensed and worried thats why you are magnifying those symptoms which you would have juz ignored on a normal day..and your 6 week negative test also shows you did not have a risk in the 1st place..
time to move on and forget bout hiv

Assuming your condom was intact and covered the tip of your penis throughout the intercourse.Then I will conclude that you are not at risk.Your fears are irrational.HIV  can't penetrate through  condoms.This is a myth.
